Cumbrian punks COLT 45 release 'Snakes & Ladders' EP 29th April 2016 on Visible Noise Records

Cumbrian punks COLT 45 just revealed brand new single ‘All Hell Broke Loose’ – the first new material to be taken from their forthcoming new EP 'Snakes & Ladders' which is released on 29th April 2016 with a special EP release show at The Brickyard in Carlisle also revealed for the same day.

Watch here the video for the track "All Hell Break Loose" https://youtu.be/f-Ih0xyL3AY and read on what drummer Adam has to say about the single and new record...

Drummer Adam Lewis explains of the new single: "All Hell Broke Loose was the first track we wrote for our new EP, 'Snakes & Ladders.' It fits in nicely with the broader theme of the record - it's about coming to terms with the fact that hard work and passion aren't necessarily going to be enough to take you where you want to go, and that ultimately you're on your own and you have to make your own luck. It's that idea of one step forward, two steps back to make progress, and as a DIY band, that's what we're used to, and that's where we feel comfortable.

There's only a handful of bands that get to do this at the highest level and we feel there's a formula for that - one that's actually exclusive to those with the right contacts or merchandise or a huge PR budget. F*ck that. We're from a time and place where being in a band was about being on the same level as fans and anyone with a guitar or drum kit and the right attitude had as much chance as anyone else. That's changed, and there's far too much pressure and importance placed on generating 'exclusive content' or 'let's do a video telling everyone we like Coco Pops cos that'll shift a few more records.' No thanks. We're fine where we are and staying true to our DIY and punk rock ethos is more important to us than trying to be something we're not.

This is a DIY record which reflects how we feel about the last few years we've spent touring and releasing our music. For every ladder you climb and opportunity you take, there's someone or something to put you back in your place. I think we've got to a stage where we don't care about that anymore, we just want to make music we want to listen to and hopefully we'll reach some new fans with it and continue touring and writing for a long time to come."

Recently winning national plaudits from the likes of Kerrang! Magazine, Rock Sound, Big Cheese Magazine, BBC Radio One and more, COLT 45 are a testament to the phrase “substance over style”. Merging heartfelt, small-town frustration with melodic punk anthems and contagious hooks, the trio have worked their way up from the bottom by gigging relentlessly.

They have become pioneers for the modest Cumbrian rock scene, recently launching their ‘I Remember When The Rain Came Down’ charity single to help victims of the recent floods and donating all proceeds to the Cumbria Flood Appeal.

Having recently toured Germany for the first time and completing further UK tours with The Computers and subsequently FAUX, the band are now gathering an impressive set of notches on the touring and festival posts, with more live dates and further new material in the works for 2016.
